Goebel

Founded in Austria, the pottery of William Goebel is still trading today. Goebel pieces from the 1930's in the Art Deco style are particularly collectable currently but the factory is best known for its production of 'Hummel' figures which were designed in a 'kitsch' style by Berthe Hummel.

The broad output of Hummel figures range, each one with its own distinctive shape name and standing between around 4.5 to 5 inches high, was very popular in the nineteen fifties and sixties.
