Maling

In 1762 the Maling family established a pottery in North Hylton near Sunderland in England producing both plain and decorative earthenware. The name of the pottery changed in 1853 to C.T. Maling then in 1854 Ford Co. took over the company.

Elaborate floral lustre ware influenced by the Art Nouveau style was the primary production during the nineteen twenties and thirties aimed at the domestic market. Lucien Boullemier designed a plaque commemorating King Edward VIII's coronation.
