Sonny Rollins

Sonny Rollins

The greatest living tenor sax player? Certainly one of the last of the Old Masters of jazz, who first recorded in the late 1940s. Best heard live, he has nevertheless committed to disc a number of important albums, such as ‘Live at the Village Vanguard’. Fond of playing quirky non-jazz tunes –e.g. ‘I’m Just an Old Cowhand’.
